Psychotherapy Associates, PLLC. Joy graduated from the University of Texas School of Social Work in 1999. Since then she has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, law enforcement, non-profits and private practice. Joy is a level II trained EMDR therapist, a Licensed Acudetox Specialist and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. She has specialized training in hypnosis, EFT and Critical Incident Stress Management. She is a member of EMDRIA (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association), TSCSW (Texas Society of Clinical Social Work), NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) and NASW (National Association of Social Workers). Joy is active in the Central Texas Society for Clinical Hypnosis and the Regional EMDR chapter and she participates in a monthly TSCSW consult group. Joy is also a member of HOT EAP. A feminiist, Joy comes from an eclectic approach, and utilizes Systems theory, EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Energy and Chakra balancing work and Re-Evaluation Counseling. She also offers weekly supevision to candidates for LCSW licensure. She provides a non judgmental and accepting space for alternative lifestyes, including the poly amorous community, transgendered, gay and lesbian, bisexual, queer and questioning, as well as heterosexual couples and individuals.
